CountyColorado's Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) helps pay part of winter heating costs. Residents of Montezuma County can get a LEAP application or help applying from the Montezuma County Department of Social Services in Cortez. Applications are taken November 1 through April 30. If you get a utility shut-off notice, bring your completed application and the notice to the office — staff fax it to the LEAP processor the same day.
