CountyThe Long Term Care Authority (LTCA) of Enid has been the Area Agency on Aging for Alfalfa, Blaine, Garfield, Grant, Kay, Kingfisher, Major and Noble counties since 2016. Its Older Americans Act services include transportation, information and assistance, legal assistance, senior nutrition, the long-term care ombudsman, and family caregiver services. It also offers senior Medicare counseling, ADvantage long-term care program information, caregiver support groups and respite help for grandparents raising children. CountyCherokee Strip Transit is a demand-response transportation system open to the public. Its service area includes Alfalfa, Blaine, Grant, Kingfisher and Noble counties and parts of Garfield and Kay counties. Scheduling and dispatching for all offices go through the Garber office. The local Area Agency on Aging lists Cherokee Strip Transit as a provider of rides for people 60 and older to medical visits, senior meals, grocery shopping and errands.
