Senior Property Tax Freeze (SB 190) — St. Clair
County · MissouriSt. Clair County has adopted Missouri's senior property tax credit (SB 190): homeowners 62 or older can freeze the real-estate tax bill on their primary home, so it stops rising in later years. Applications: New applications will be accepted March 1 - June 30th for the 2025 Initial Credit Year. St. Clair County's Collector of Revenue runs the credit. Requirements listed on the page: 62 years or older on or before January 1st, 2026; owner of record; liable for payment of the taxes; primary residence. The credit must be renewed every year - "Renew your Senior Tax Credit March 1-June 30th, 2026" and "You must renew the Senior Tax Credit every year." Applications can be made in person at the Collector's Office (bring government-issued proof of identity, age and residency) or online at homesteadcreditpro.com/stclair. News release dated 05-28-2025.
